    Question Looking for joinery course.

    I'm looking for a joinery course that will train me in;
    building frame work in a room.
    stud walling.
    drilling and notching.
    Building regs.

    Is it called bench joinery, I found this on a College website. I believe I need bench not site joinery.

    Construction Diploma Carpentry and Joinery Level 1.
    The Construction Diploma Level 1 programme integrates both Carpentry and Joinery basic skills involing the safe use of hand and portable power tools. Subjects covered include basic principles of construction technology, health and safety, working platforms, formal drawing techniques and applied calculations. Units within the Diploma are delivered by a mix of practical skills development sessions and reinforced by theory knowledge related classroom-based learning.

    Construction Diploma Bench Joinery Level 2.
    The programme includes 7 units and a practical synoptic test. Units covered include, general health and safety in the workplace, efficient work practices and moving and handling resources. The subject specialised units include the set out, mark out and manufacture of various items of joinery such as windows doors and stairs. There is also a unit on safe use of circular saws.

    Construction Diploma Site Carpentry Level 2.
    The programme includes 7 units and a practical synoptic test. Units covered include, general health and safety in the workplace, efficient work practices and moving and handling resources. The subject specialised units include the first fixing components ie floors roofs etc, second fix components ie skirting architrave etc and carcassing components ie stairs etc. There is also a unit on safe use of circular saws.

    All three are 2 days a week for 34 weeks and do a concessionary fee

    Though I didn't think there was a level 1 qual as it was just for people leaving school who hadn't decided what they wanted to do yet.

    Any other courses, any help anyone.

    My dad did these he's not a tradesman but did have a second job but only done stuff at home now for a number of years.
    He did carpentry at school.
