How much are tradesmen being ripped off on sites? It's been quite a few years since I have done any price work on sites, I'm a joiner btw, doing majority domestic work now.
But I've been thinking about doing subbie work again, for an ex employer who called me.
So, what are the prices like just now?
For roughing, and for finishing?
I heard they are absolutely terrible, in Scotland anyway.
And I realise it may be different in different places.
But I had a chat with a former workmate who told me some horror stories, ie. guys knocking their absolute pan in for £30 per day. Others having to hump about 6 ton of plasterboard(no labourers provided)for the price work on roughing.
So, I would love to hear other stories good or bad relating to price work deals for joiners at present.
Include everything. Did you get fuel money? How far do you have to travel? Did you get labourers? What time did you get up in the morning? And what time home? How wrecked were you?
I'd love to know, and I'd love to know everything.
Tim.
