Do extractor fans use much electricity? An average 100mm/4" axial bathroom fan uses about 20-40watts which in relative terms is very little when you compare it to a an average kettle normally about 3000watts or a TV at 100-200watts (mine a Sony 40"LCD is 165w) even an average laptop uses 50-80watts. There are some produced over the last 5 years or so that have been made to run at an extra low wattage (Vent-Axia Low watt) so if you have one of those fitted then it's about 5.2 watts

Re: Do extractor fans use much electricity? What about the bigger industrial extractor fans like these (have I done that right?!!) May need to get dust / fumes from our warehouse out but it's a big space!

Re: Do extractor fans use much electricity? Well it totally depend on you, how much you use it. On the whole it doesn't cost much.
