Metal, then when you fill it you can lie back and not get shocked to death by the cold on your neck. Hard to get new these days though.

Acrylic - they are lighter to carry in the house.

Acrylic for me. They have come a long way the last 5-6 years. You get what you pay for, you can buy a £50 jobbie and it's not much thicker than a plastic bag but if you buy right you can get some really good quality ones that keep the heat much longer than a cast one. A lot of baths come in standard and an up rated version

council never would use metal, it's tooo expensive for them
you could say it's a bit like putting sunroofs in a panda car, not the done thing really
mind you the tenants would probably not care either way

Don't waste money for metal ones. If you consider quality, acrylic is still the best. When you buy, though, make sure you choose a steel frame, not a wooden one.
Quality bathrooms need not be expensive; fairfield bathrooms direct offers discount bathrooms at rates you won't believe

It totally depends upon your taste metal baths are much durable and acrylic bath are much stylish. Really quiet difficult to choose between two.
