Only do a couple of businesses a week, but get good returns on just making face to face contact. Branded clothing helps too and my back is a punchy short advert. Dont skimp on business cards both in style and quality, hand them out in multiples.

Re: Leaflet Drops We used to do leaflets in with the local free paper, don't think we ever got much work out of it and I recall it being expensive.
The boss did have us handing out leaflets outside B&Q and Wickes once when we had nothing to do.
